In second place, the team from Tsun Jin High School received RM45,000 in scholarships, while the third-placed team from Kuen Cheng High School was awarded RM30,000 in scholarships. UCSI University Student Affairs and Alumni deputy vice-chancellor Assoc Prof Dr Mabel Tan Hwee Joo said developing STEM talent is crucial to Malaysia’s future. “It is inspiring to be among the bright young minds from schools across Malaysia, gathered under one roof,” she said. “STEM education in the country is especially important today, now that our government is transitioning from a technology consumer to an AI and digital innovation producer. “As one of Asia's leading universities, classified among the world's top 1%, hosting this competition is a priority for us. “Ranked in Asia’s Top 30 and eighth in Southeast Asia, UCSI empowers students from over 120 nations as we’re committed to fostering future leaders.” The National Science and Maths Quiz 2026 was jointly organised by UCSI University Kuala Lumpur Campus, UCSI University Springhill Campus and UCSI College.
