Zeekr Owners in Malaysia Get RM1.20/kWh Rate at DC Handal EV Chargers
KUALA LUMPUR — Zeekr vehicle owners in Malaysia can now access a discounted electricity rate of RM1.20 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) at all DC Handal direct-current (DC) fast chargers nationwide. The initiative, part of Zeekr’s expanded Zeekr Power partnership with local charge point operators (CPOs), aims to improve the electric vehicle (EV) ownership experience in the country.
Zeekr has been strengthening its local charging infrastructure through collaborations with Malaysian CPOs, including DC Handal. The RM1.20/kWh rate applies across all DC Handal charging stations, not limited to Zeekr Power-branded units. This rate is lower than the typical RM1.30 to RM1.50 per kWh charged at most DC Handal locations, offering Zeekr owners a cost advantage.
To activate the discounted rate, Zeekr owners must complete an online form, with the onboarding process finalized within 24 hours. Once activated, users can access the RM1.20/kWh rate via the ChargEV mobile app when charging at any DC Handal station. The app serves as the primary interface for managing charging sessions and payments.
In addition to the pricing benefit, Zeekr and DC Handal are expanding Zeekr Power-branded chargers along the North-South Expressway (PLUS). Two new locations are planned: PLUS Plaza Toll Plaza Sungkai in Perak and PLUS Plaza Toll Bukit Gambir in Johor. These stations are targeted for completion in the fourth quarter of 2026, enhancing charging accessibility for long-distance travelers.
DC Handal has also announced that three additional charging locations will open in the near future, further expanding the network. The company operates high-powered DC chargers, which are essential for reducing charging times during long-distance travel.
The initiative reflects growing efforts by EV manufacturers and CPOs in Malaysia to improve charging affordability and accessibility. As EV adoption accelerates, competitive charging rates and expanded infrastructure are expected to play a key role in supporting the transition to electric mobility in the country.
