Datuk Seri Ismail Lasim said the Negeri Sembilan government will focus on stability, progress and prosperity as the pillars of its new administration.

Market Impact

Speaking at the Negeri Sembilan 2026 Civil Service Assembly and Malaysian Flag-raising ceremony in Seremban today, the Mentri Besar said stability goes beyond a majority in the State Assembly. It includes constitutional monarchy and adat institutions, professional administration and policies that build confidence among citizens, investors and businesses.

“Progress cannot be measured by growth numbers alone,” he said. “It means creating opportunities, attracting high-quality investment, generating high-value jobs and producing competitive human capital.”

Ismail said development must be inclusive so that rural areas, Felda settlements and local communities benefit alongside major towns. Prosperity, he added, should reach every segment of society through projects that improve daily life.

The new administration will support these goals with programmes in economic development, welfare, education, human capital, agriculture, rural development, housing, environment, tourism, religion, adat, heritage, sports, unity and public service delivery. All initiatives will be translated into measurable policies and projects, he said.

Ismail said the Negeri Sembilan cabinet, or EXCO, will work together to make the state more competitive in investment, create opportunities for youth, strengthen agriculture and rural economies, improve housing and living environments, and uphold adat, culture and heritage as the foundation of identity.
