A 37-year-old man was shot in the arm during an attack at Seri Tambun business area in Seberang Perai, Penang, this morning.

Superintendent Jay January Siowou of South Seberang Perai police said officers received the report at about 10am and are investigating the case under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder and Section 39 of the Arms Act 1960. The victim was sent to Seberang Jaya Hospital for treatment. Police have recovered evidence at the scene and are pursuing all leads. The motive remains under investigation. Tip-offs can be sent to investigating officer Assistant Superintendent Mohd Rizal Abd Rashid on 019-8282212 or to the nearest police station.
