Gamuda Bhd joins 750 global firms on TIME-Statista’s World’s Most Sustainable Companies 2026 list, the only Malaysian entry in Resource Generation & Infrastructure, and climbs to the 4-star FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia ESG band.

Market Impact

Gamuda placed 239th among 5,800 companies in 43 countries, according to the TIME-Statista ranking released on Tuesday. The group is the sole Malaysian representative in the Resource Generation & Infrastructure category, which covers utilities, heavy engineering, mining support and raw-material supply.

FTSE Russell raised Gamuda’s FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia ESG rating to 3.7, moving the group into the top 25% quartile and the highest 4-star band. The upgrade reflects stronger performance in the Social and Governance pillars, the company said.

“Our inclusion reflects strong environmental and social performance, transparent reporting and alignment with global ESG standards,” Gamuda said in a statement. The TIME-Statista methodology evaluates environmental impact, social contribution, corporate transparency and adherence to recognised ESG frameworks.

On Bursa Malaysia, the higher rating helps secure sustainability-linked financing on improved terms and strengthens bids where ESG credentials are pre-qualification criteria, the company added.

These independent recognitions reinforce Gamuda’s view that sustainability is central to resilient infrastructure and community outcomes. The group remains committed to the Gamuda Green Plan as it expands across regional markets.
