Klang Utara police arrested a man in his 30s after he fled a roadblock, tested positive for drugs and was found to have prior narcotics offences. The suspect, detained at 6.10pm yesterday on Persiaran Hamzah Alang in Meru, was initially stopped for reckless driving, said Asisten Komisioner Ramsay Embol, Klang Utara district police chief.

Embol said the man’s attempt to evade police led to the discovery of an outstanding drugs case. A urine test confirmed he was positive for narcotics, while prior records showed related convictions. Police also charged him under Section 188 of the Penal Code for disobeying an order to stop, Section 186 for obstructing a public servant and Section 279 for dangerous driving.
