Teofimo Lopez will chase boxing’s first undisputed welterweight champion after securing the World Boxing Association belt with a dominant win over Rolando Romero.

Speaking to The Ring after his unanimous-decision victory in Las Vegas on August 23, Lopez said he has three more fights under his current DAZN contract and will use them to claim the undisputed title.

“I still have three fights left with DAZN and they will all be for the undisputed championship,” Lopez told the magazine.

The win over Romero at T-Mobile Arena marks a career rebound for Lopez, who lost a wide decision to Shakur Stevenson in January 2026.

Lopez now eyes the next tier of welterweight champions. He named WBC holder Ryan Garcia, WBO champion Devin Haney and IBF titlist Liam Paro as the targets he wants to face.

“I’m going to take the next world title. Whoever holds it next is the point,” he said.

Mandatory WBA challenger Jack Catterall and contenders Keyshawn Davis, Richardson Hitchins, Manny Pacquiao and Brian Norman are also in the mix, but Lopez said he would only accept bouts against current belt holders.

He ruled out defending his WBA title before pursuing champions in other sanctioning bodies, adding that he is ready for any opponent.

Top of Lopez’s wish list is the winner of the September 12 showdown between Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn in London.

Lopez and Garcia have traded barbs for years, and promoter Keith Connolly represents both fighters, keeping a potential unification bout within reach.

“Right now the talk is that fight will happen next. We’ll see what happens,” Lopez said. “If Conor wins it’ll be a great fight overseas. I’m fine with the result either way.”
