Market Impact

Speaking during a moment of silence at a ceremony marking the 81st anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence Day at Masjid At-Taufiq School in South Jakarta on Monday, Megawati said the public should pray for affected communities in NTT, particularly Flores.

“Let us offer a collective prayer, especially for Nusa Tenggara Timur, particularly Flores, so that those who have endured this disaster may find strength,” she said.

Megawati also prayed for families of the victims, asking that they be granted patience and comfort amid their loss.

“And for the families who have lost loved ones in this earthquake, we pray they find a place of honour in the sight of Allah,” she added.

She conveyed her deepest condolences to the residents of Flores, NTT.

“To all Indonesians whom I love and cherish, I have already led a prayer for the people of Flores, NTT, and offer my deepest condolences for the victims of this extraordinary earthquake,” Megawati said.
