Business matching sessions arranged by Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade facilitated 1,021 micro, small and medium enterprises and generated Rp5.95 trillion in orders and potential deals between January and July 2026.
Market Impact
According to Fajarini Puntodewi, director-general of national export development at the ministry, the total comprised purchase orders worth USD 58.06 million and prospective transactions worth USD 275.61 million. She said the USD 333.68 million combined value showed the programme’s effectiveness in connecting Indonesian sellers with overseas buyers.
The sessions ran from 546 events, of which 281 were pitching sessions held with trade representatives in 33 export markets. The ministry said 265 were direct buyer meetings. In July alone, the ministry ran 122 sessions involving 396 companies, Fajarini said, with 79 buyers from 15 countries committing USD 82.33 million in orders and potential deals.
The July batch included USD 21.34 million in purchase orders and USD 60.99 million in prospective transactions. Countries represented included Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, India, the United States, Nigeria, Mexico, China and Australia. Buyers showed interest in dairy, animal feed, edible bird’s nest, pharmaceuticals, fashion, handicrafts, home décor, processed food and beverages, coconut products, dammar resin, essential oils, coffee, furniture, herbal products, coconut charcoal and briquettes.
Fajarini said the programme would continue to rely on trade representatives to identify buyers and match them with Indonesian exporters. She added the ministry was working with IWAPI, Sarinah, Bank Indonesia and provincial trade agencies in West Java and East Java to support the effort.
The director-general said the ministry would keep expanding the programme to improve the competitiveness of Indonesian products and open new export markets. She said she expected the initial contacts made through the sessions to convert into sustained trade partnerships and export flows.
