WCT Wins RM608.89m Contract to Build 41-Storey Office Tower in Kuala Lumpur’s TRX

Market Impact

PETALING JAYA (Aug 28): WCT Holdings Bhd has secured a RM600.89 million contract to construct a 41-storey office building at Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) in Kuala Lumpur.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Friday, WCT said its subsidiary WCT Bhd had accepted the contract from Pelangi Pasifik Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned unit of TRX City Sdn Bhd. The project will be built on Lot 20076 (Plot 7) and part of Lot 20077 (Plot 8), Section 67, TRX, along Jalan Tun Razak and Jalan Davis.

The contract, valued at RM600,887,586.69, covers a three-phase development including a connecting road, two basement levels, a four-storey podium for parking and mechanical facilities, 14 floors of office space, and an additional 27 floors of office space. Works include civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, facade, landscaping, and external works.

Construction is set to begin on Dec 1, 2026. WCT confirmed no directors, major shareholders, or connected parties have any interest in the contract.

The project is expected to boost Malaysia’s property sector, aligning with ongoing developments in TRX, the country’s financial hub. Analysts say the contract reflects strong demand for high-rise office spaces in prime locations.

The development is part of TRX’s broader expansion, which aims to attract multinational corporations and financial institutions.
