The Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 opened today across three venues in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, offering a 12-day programme that blends cultural performances with motorsport attractions.

Market Impact

Tourism Malaysia said the festival supports the Visit Malaysia 2026-2027 campaign by staging a mega-scale event in IOI City Mall Putrajaya, KLIA Terminal 1 and Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA.

At IOI City Mall Putrajaya, the festival is divided into four zones. Zone A, called Colours of Speed, holds an interactive simulator competition. Zone B provides tourism and cultural information booths from Tourism Malaysia, Tourism Selangor and the Sepang Municipal Council. Zone C, labelled Colours of Art & Culture, offers 14 interactive stations for traditional arts and crafts plus live cultural performances.

Zone D, named Colours of Parade, features cultural performances, virtual-reality elements and meet-and-greet sessions with the festival mascots Wira and Manja.

Tourism Malaysia said the dynamic approach offers visitors a fresh cultural experience while stimulating the tourism, retail, hospitality and creative industries. By hosting the event across a shopping centre, an airport terminal and a hotel, the festival opens a new dimension in promoting Malaysia, according to the statement.

Visitors at KLIA Terminal 1 and Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA can enjoy cultural dance performances, automotive exhibitions and traditional games such as gasing and congkak. They can also try racing simulator sessions. Guests staying at Sama-Sama Hotel receive specially designed Citrawarna Speed Festival edition room key cards.

According to the statement, the festival’s highlight, the Colours of Parade, will take place at IOI City Mall Putrajaya at 8.30 pm on Oct 3. It will feature 1,500 cultural dancers and performers. "Through traditional music, dance, vibrant costumes and cultural expressions, this parade will showcase the diversity and unity of the Malaysian community in a spectacular celebration of the nation’s heritage," Tourism Malaysia said.

The festival will conclude on Oct 4 with a Lamborghini Activation, bringing together approximately 100 high-performance supercars. The full programme schedule, Simulator Competition details and latest festival updates are available on the official Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 social media channels at facebook.com/CitrawarnaMalaysia/ or instagram.com/citrawarna.my/.
