KUCHING, July 26 — Deputy Minister for Rural and Regional Development Datuk Hajah Rubiah Haji Wang presented RM333,000 in financing and grants to four entrepreneurs at the opening of BIZNETWORK Fiesta Sarawak 2026 on Saturday.
The three-day fair at Plaza Merdeka, which runs until July 26, is organised by the Entrepreneur Development Division of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA). It brings together 32 MARA-guided entrepreneurs from across Sarawak to promote products, forge business ties and explore collaborations.
The event features business matching sessions, TikTok Live promotions, product demonstrations and the launch of five new products developed by MARA entrepreneurs. A centrepiece is the MARA in Fashion runway show, which showcased contemporary designs by local Sarawak creators and TVET trainees from GIATMARA Mambong under the theme “Borneo Reimagined – Celebrating Sarawak Indigenous Heritage in Contemporary Fashion.” National fashion designer Dato’ Tom Abang Saufi made a special appearance to model an exclusive collection.
Since its launch in 2020, BIZNETWORK Fiesta has supported 1,618 entrepreneurs and generated RM43 million in sales, MARA said. The initiative targets food, crafts, fashion and services sectors and aims to improve product marketability, expand businesses and explore new market opportunities in line with MARA’s drive to develop competitive Bumiputera entrepreneurs nationally and internationally.
