Ajinomoto’s Nutrition Program for Malaysian Athletes Wins Social Impact Recognition

Market Impact

KUALA LUMPUR – Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad (AMB) has concluded its Sports Nutrition Awareness Project, a collaboration with the Ministry of Education Malaysia and Bukit Jalil Sports School (BJSS) aimed at promoting healthy eating habits among elite student athletes. The initiative, part of Ajinomoto’s global Creating Shared Value (ASV) program, included nutritionist-led talks, balanced meal servings, and a dedicated sports nutrition corridor. Approximately 400 student athletes participated in the project, which concluded recently.

The program aligns with AMB’s broader efforts to support sports nutrition in Malaysia, following its platinum sponsorship of the 29th SEA Games and 9th ASEAN Para Games in 2017. Ajinomoto’s ASEAN Victory Project®, which began in Japan in 2003, has been expanded across the region, including Malaysia, to enhance athlete performance through structured nutrition education.

However, AMB has continued to promote health and wellness by introducing aminoVITAL®, a sports drink containing 3,000mg of amino acids, including Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA). Marketed as Japan’s No. 1 sports drink, it is now available on major e-commerce platforms such as Lazada and Shopee.

Ajinomoto reiterated its commitment to resolving food and health challenges through amino acid innovation, emphasizing long-term social impact alongside economic growth.
