Busiai Seman, Chief Executive Officer of Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS), received the 2026 World Innovation Leadership Award for his leadership in digital transformation, according to a statement released on Friday.

Market Impact

The award was presented by Melaka Governor Tun Seri Setia Dr Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam during the inaugural World Business Chamber Dinner on Thursday.

SAINS said Busiai was recognised for driving strategic technology initiatives that strengthened digital government services, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence and sovereign digital capabilities in Sarawak.

“This recognition reflects Busiai’s leadership and the collective efforts of the SAINS team in driving innovation and supporting Sarawak’s digital transformation agenda,” the company said.

The World Business Chamber provides a global platform for responsible business, strategic collaboration and sustainable growth, uniting business leaders worldwide to foster innovation and economic development.

SAINS, a company limited by guarantee established in 1995, operates as an autonomous non-profit research institute under the Companies Act 1965. It conducts interdisciplinary research on development issues to provide policy inputs to government and private organisations.
