Trade Minister Budi Santoso expects Trade Expo Indonesia 2026 transactions to exceed last year’s US$22.8 billion.

Market Impact

The 41st edition of the show runs 14-18 October 2026 at Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City. Budi said the government has stepped up pre-event business matching so Indonesian vendors can meet overseas buyers digitally before the doors open.

“Our target is to surpass last year’s figure of US$22.8 billion, including both buyer attendance and export growth,” Budi told reporters after a CEO Gathering in Solo on 20 August 2026.

Trade Expo Indonesia 2025 closed at US$22.8 billion, up 12% from the 2024 edition.

The ministry will monitor contracts signed on site to ensure they convert into actual exports. Budi said Trade Expo Indonesia is part of a broader push to lift national exports beyond the current US$280 billion annual run rate.

Furniture is one sector in focus. Trade Ministry official Fajarini Puntodewi said 106 HIMKI member firms from Java, Bali and West Nusa Tenggara attended the Solo meeting. The government has expanded furniture hall space after last year’s 200 sq m allocation proved insufficient for strong Latin American demand.

HIMKI chairman Abdul Sobur said the industry’s export target is US$6 billion by 2031 and US$25 billion by 2045. He cited rising global competition as the main challenge. “We exported US$3.6 billion combined last year, but that is still only about 2% of the national export goal,” Abdul said.

The ministry plans five CEO Gatherings this year, grouping state-owned and private CEOs by flagship products to sharpen Trade Expo Indonesia’s promotional value.
