“The funds were deposited as a lump sum into the assemblymen’s service centre accounts, but they no longer held office at the time,” she told Free Malaysia Today. “Previously, there had never been a case where funds were deposited after someone had ceased to be an assemblyman.”
Asna said reclaiming the money would ensure state funds were used only by those entitled, safeguarding transparency and integrity in financial management.
