Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds will batter Sarawak, Sabah and Labuan until 11am today, Malaysia’s meteorological department said.

The Department of Meteorology (MetMalaysia) issued the alert at 8.50am covering Betong (Saratok), Sarikei, Mukah (Daro, Matu, Mukah and Dalat), Miri (Beluru and Marudi), Limbang, Kapit (Belaga) and Bintulu (Tatau) in Sarawak. In Sabah the warning spans inland areas such as Kuala Penyu, Beaufort and Membakut, plus the west coast covering Papar, Penampang, Putatan and Kota Kinabalu.
