Google launched the Pixel 11 Pro Fold in Malaysia priced from RM7,999 for the 256GB model and RM8,599 for the 512GB variant, the company said on Wednesday.

Market Impact

The book-style foldable features a thinner and lighter design, measuring 10.1mm thick when folded and 5.0mm when unfolded, and weighs 239g compared with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s 258g. It is powered by Google’s new Tensor G6 chip and comes with 16GB of RAM.

The device sports a 6.5-inch 19.5:9 Super Actua OLED cover display with a 2342×1080 resolution and an 8-inch Super Actua Flex OLED inner display with a 2152×2076 resolution, both supporting adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rates and up to 3,600 nits peak brightness. A triple-camera system includes a 48MP main sensor, a 10.5MP ultra-wide with autofocus and a 10.8MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom and 30x Super Zoom.

Google claims more than 24 hours of battery life from a 4,750mAh battery that supports 30W wired charging to 50% in 30 minutes and 25W wireless charging under the Qi 2.2 standard. The phone carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and ships with Android 17 plus seven years of OS and security updates.

Pre-orders opened on August 12, 2026, with first shipments on August 18 and wider availability from August 20 through CelcomDigi, Maxis, Urban Republic, Senheng, Shopee, U Mobile and Thundermatch. Buyers receive six months of Google AI Pro free.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold adds AI-enhanced features such as Dual Screen Preview, Rear Camera Selfie and Rambler, which cleans filler words from voice notes. Circle to Search is now available inside the Pixel Camera app, and Live Translate works across videos, podcasts and voice messages.

Pricing places the device above Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max at RM6,499 and Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra at RM5,999, but below Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 at RM11,999. Industry estimates put Malaysia’s foldable share at about 5% of smartphone shipments this year, up from 3% in 2025.

Local tech retailers reported a jump in foldable inquiries since the Pixel 11 series announcement. “Walk-in traffic for foldables rose 40% over the weekend as customers compare Tensor G6 performance and AI tools,” said a Kuala Lumpur vendor who asked not to be named.
