Apple Inc has raised the starting price of its new Mac Mini in Malaysia by RM1,300 to RM3,799 because of a global shortage of memory chips, the company said on Monday.

Apple claims the M6 delivers up to 40 % faster CPU performance and twice the graphics speed of the M4. Unified memory bandwidth rises from 120 GB/s to 170 GB/s, while the Neural Engine offers four times the AI throughput for large-language-model prompts.

Education buyers pay RM3,399 for the M6, Apple said.

The M5 Pro starts at RM7,499 and goes up to RM7,099 for education customers. Its base configuration includes a 15-core CPU, 16-core GPU, 24 GB of unified memory and a 512 GB SSD. Maximum specs climb to an 18-core CPU, 20-core GPU, 64 GB of unified memory and an 8 TB SSD, with memory bandwidth increasing from 273 GB/s to 307 GB/s versus the M4 Pro.

Connectivity upgrades include Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 across the range, while 2.5 Gb Ethernet becomes standard and Thunderbolt 5 appears on the M5 Pro. The M6 model uses Thunderbolt 4.

Apple said the M6 Mac Mini supports up to three external displays, including two at up to 6K 60Hz plus a third at up to 5K 60Hz. The M5 Pro can drive up to three 6K 60Hz displays.

The company added that the M6 can deliver up to 4.8x faster LLM prompt processing in LM Studio and up to 1.5x faster spreadsheet calculations in Microsoft Excel compared with the M4. For gaming, Apple claims up to 2x faster ray-tracing performance in Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition.

Overseas vendors such as Superbuy and EZBuy confirmed on Monday that the new Mac Mini models will be available through their Malaysian storefronts on the same day as Apple’s online launch.
