Market Impact

The Bachelors, a USIM modern band, won the Battle of the Band category with a reworked version of M. Nasir’s Srikandi Cintaku, while the campus War Cry squad took the choreographed Sorakan Perang contest. Both victories were announced at the KPDN Negeri Sembilan hall on 15 August 2026.

Vocalist Muhammad Mifzal Muhammad Faruq said the win capped months of rehearsals. “When they called us champions, we were overjoyed—the effort finally paid off,” he told reporters. The Bachelors now plan to keep performing and to promote USIM.

KPPS War Cry leader Muhammad Aliff Zakwan Mohamad Firdaus said the trophy spurred the group to raise its game further. “Hearing ‘USIM’ announced as winner made every member’s face light up,” he said. The squad will now prepare for the next stage.

USIM’s Cultural Centre director Mohd Salehudin Sukor credited the students’ stamina during semester break and their refusal to quit. “Their perseverance has put USIM in the spotlight,” he said.
