The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said two low-pressure areas (LPAs) and a tropical depression are being monitored as the southwest monsoon threatens Luzon and Visayas.

According to PAGASA’s 10:00 a.m. bulletin on Tuesday, both LPAs have a high chance of developing within 24 hours. The nearer LPA lay 400 km west of Calayan, Cagayan, while the farther system was 1,170 km east of Extreme Northern Luzon. A tropical depression was also being tracked 3,160 km east of Northeastern Mindoro.

PAGASA forecast intense rainfall of 100–200 mm over Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas and Occidental Mindoro, with heavy rains of 50–100 mm expected in Metro Manila, La Union, Benguet and nine other provinces. Flooding and landslides remain possible until Friday noon.
